Thanks to everyone who came out to run the gruelling, spartan, July Meeting Poker Pizza Run on what turned to be a very warm day, (my car said it was 96F). Challenging and hilly with its final uphill into the sun on Washington street made it a real test. There has been some talk about a 5K - but on a cooler day! Maybe in November (lol).
After the event we cooled off around the corner back at Big Mama's with pizza, salad (thanks Deanna), beverages and conversation.
Lorne also took the mic. and shared with us personal stories about Andy Latincsics, as a companion, fellow athlete, and close friend. We then made a public donation to the Latincsics Family gofundme fund as a club and are looking forward to the run planned in connection.
For the awards, the winners, and the losers for the inaugural JMPPR...that will be forthcoming in a club e-mail.
And again warm thanks to everyone especially the card toting volunteers who helped out on the street. See you soon, maybe at the Boilermaker.
